Lead Structural Engineer - UAE

Job Purpose:

The Lead Structural Engineer is responsible for leading the structural design and technical delivery of high-rise and large-scale projects, ensuring compliance with international standards, UAE regulations, and project requirements. The role involves managing multidisciplinary coordination, mentoring engineering teams, and driving innovative, efficient, and practical structural design solutions throughout all project stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the structural design process for high-rise, commercial, residential, and mega-scale developments.
  • Review and approve structural calculations, drawings, technical reports, and design deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with international codes, UAE municipality regulations, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Manage, mentor, and support structural engineering teams to maintain high technical and professional standards.
  • Participate in value engineering and provide innovative, cost-effective structural solutions.
  • Liaise with authorities and support the approval process with Dubai, Sharjah, and other UAE municipalities.
  • Monitor project timelines, technical quality, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support the development and implementation of advanced engineering tools, automation methods, and AI-driven solutions within the structural engineering workflow.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 15 years of structural design experience, including at least 8 recent years with a reputable consultant in the UAE.
  • Proven experience in high-rise buildings and large-scale / mega projects.
  • Strong proficiency in ETABS, SAFE, STAAD, RAM, ADAPT, and other structural analysis software.
  • In-depth knowledge of international codes and standards, including ACI, IBC, ASCE, UBC, and related regulations.
  • Full awareness of UAE municipality requirements and approval procedures.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, lead, monitor, and mentor large engineering teams.
  • Dubai or Sharjah Municipality approval will be considered a strong advantage.
  • Creative and forward-thinking approach toward structural engineering and design solutions.
  • Strong skills in developing and utilizing Excel-based tools, in-house engineering tools, programming, and AI applications will be considered a strong advantage.
